Introduction to Electronic Music and Beat Production
Almost every form of modern music has some element of computer based production. Whether completely electronic, or enhanced by electronic music techniques, all producers, engineers, and artists have something to gain by understanding these methods.
In this class, students will learn how to create a track, start to finish, using the techniques of electronic music and beat production.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an official Ex'pression Pro Certificate of Completion.
Who Should Attend This class is not software specific. The techniques learned in this class can be used with any software and hardware.
Location Courses are held at Ex'pression College for Digital Arts in Emeryville, CA. Parking is available on site and also easily accessible via public transportation.

Upon completion of the class, students will leave with an audio CD version of their completed track and the skill-set to continue creating electronic computer based music in any genre.
Chris is an educator, producer, engineer, composer, and electroacoustic musician whose research ranges from algorithmic composition, interactive machine learning, synthesis, music information retrieval, human-computer interaction, audio generated visualizations, alternative controllers, signal processing, physical computing, and interactive art.
For years, Chris had worked closely with Narada Michael Walden at Tarpan Studios. He is an Apple Certified Master Trainer, and adjunct Professor at San Francisco State University. Chris is faculty at Ex’pression College where he has taught for over 10 years. He co-developed the Interactive Audio Program, is the Course Director of the Game Audio, Computer Music, and Interactive Audio Systems courses, and is the Program Director of Ex’pression Pro.
